For room owners

Move many tiles at once - "Multimove"

If you are the room owner (or if the room has enabled the feature for all users), you can select many tiles at once and move and rotate them like a single tile:

multi-move Hold down the CONTROL key and click on some empty space next to the tiles you want to select and drag open a marquee (a "lasso") around the tiles. Now you can move the whole selection and even rotate it just like a single tile.

When you're done with this multimove, CONTROL-click within the marquee to commit the tiles to their new position. Other users in the room will be updated once you have committed the tiles.

How to play - TheBroth, The Global Mosaic

Control of tile rotation

tile rotation You can rotate the tiles with the mouse. Imagine each tile sitting on an invisible disk. After you have dragged a tile to its new position, click on some empty space next to the tile and drag this invisible disk in a circular fashion to rotate the tile.

Hold down the SHIFT key during rotation to switch from rotating to nudging. This is handy to nudge tiles into place that may be a pixel or two off after rotation.

Keyboard control

keyboard control You can also click the buttons or press the corresponding keys on the keyboard to rotate or nudge the last moved tile. Each click or key press rotates the last moved tile by 5 degrees (or nudges the tile by 1 pixel). You can hold down the button or the key.

Note: Holding down a key on the keyboard for long periods of time may cause the mosaic to freeze temporarily. To fix this, lower the keyboard repeat rate of your computer.

Pressing the "R" key will reset the rotation of the last moved tile to 0 degrees (straight up).

Tile navigation

active tile You can use the cursor keys to navigate the tiles and then use keyboard controls to fine-tune them. The current active tile is indicated with a red ring around it.

Copy tile rotation

You can duplicate the angle of the last moved tile by clicking on a new tile whilst holding down the SHIFT key. This also works for tile navigation using the cursor keys.

Tile snapping

Hold down the SHIFT key when you release the tile next to another tile and it will align neatly next to it. Tile snapping will also first reset the angle of the tile you're dragging to 0. Note that tile snapping only makes sense for unrotated tiles.

Slide a tile under other tiles

slide under Hold down the CONTROL key when you release the tile to slide it under other tiles. This is very useful for fine work, for example around edges, and of course if you just want to hide excess tiles.

Undo

undo button Click the "UNDO" button to undo your last move. This also works for multi-moves - in this case pressing undo will revert the tiles to their position before you selected them.

Rate other users

Click on the buttons next to a users' name. When users have a full red bar, they are being banned to the exile room. You can rate up to 3 users negatively per minute, as indicated by the number of available bullets.
