|

"Every week a poll in the forums will decide the colors of the room from the photo that is voted for the highest! The poll is found in the 'Room Owners' board and is called 'sdniiColors!'
This is what I planned for my new room to say on the top. HOWEVER... I got an error saying I couldn't post it due to "offensive language"... Now I hear the problems about too little censoring, but isn't this a bit overboard? Where is the offensive language? |

Hi sdnii, sorry about this bug! We do have an "offensive word filter" and it's quite possible that a common use word has snuck in that now prompts an alert. We'll have a look at this on Monday, but if you're curious, you can already find the word yourself using a binary search algorithm that goes like so:
Take exactly half of your motto, and try to save. If it is saves without error message, the culprit word is in the other half of the motto. Then you add one half of the offending half and try to save. If that works, the culprit is in the remaining quarter, and so... you get the idea.
This procedure is the quickest way to find out which word is to blame. Please let us know and we'll take it out of the filter. |

Hmm...
Using your method, Markus, I believe I have found the word... However it seems as though SOMETHING must be wrong... I'll test again but brace yourselves!
THE
Yes the word SEEMS to be "the". I narrowed down to the words "the" and forums"... and "the" was the culprit! |

ya. I was trying to post the message 'hello dudes'
it said it was offensive.
then 'hello world'
also offensive.
I realize Hello can be abreviated into a naughty word, but Hello is a legitamite word on its own... |

| Neeevermind... I tested again and it was offensive in both halves... etc... so I guess I'll have to wait 'till Monday to put up "sdniicolors"! |

Well if it was offensive in both halves, then you'd just halved one of the offensive halves and continue from there, and afterwards do the same for the other half.
I'm pretty certain the word "hell" was culprit #1... but, was there another bad word in it? |

| I tried to be self efacing and put 'quiet...idiot at work'. I suppose now that it didn't like me using 'idiot' in case I was being derogatory about someone else. still you live and learn...and I probably am an idiot anyway...lol |

Yeah, please remove idiot.
It's not *That* bad.
One time I tried to put 'Have fun and don't be an idiot' in my motto and it didn't work. |

oh and i couldnt put "stinky" "smelly" or "ugly"!!!
and this may seem weird, but as long as we peeps decide to be responsible, can we use "sexy" or "hot"? please? because "coreyissocute" isnt what i had aimed for when i tried to make a room.. it doesnt do him justice.
and if you put filters on the chats i will leave thebroth and boycott it. i will be very "cross."
richard patrick, call me cross.... if anyone gets that, LET ME KNOW lol
some filters would be necessary tho |
