Hey,
As many of you know, I'm really fond of the tiles. Not only because I'm bad at graffiti but because I loved the family atmosphere the old theBroth had. Many evenings spent making some collaborative art with people you knew well was really what I (and I hope that not only me) enjoyed the most. Of course, you can collaborate with the graffiti mode but the old-timers know what I mean when I say it really is a different experience.
Consequently, it's sad for me to see that at the moment there are NO mosaics amongst twenty most recent artworks (sic!). Another previous twenty artworks? Two mosaics. Another previous twenty? You get only five mosaics. I can see a downward trend there.
What's more, as Brrr has already noticed, the general popularity of the site seems to be going down. Even the graffiti works are published a lot less often than they used to be.
There are many sites where you can do graffiti which even offer you much better tools. What (to me) makes theBorth really special are the tiles .
I found theBroth from a really small blurb in a newspapper which promised a Tiling Town and that was it! That was when my long long addiction to mosaics started. I didn't need any super advertisements, just pure curiosity about what that would be .
The graffiti mode was intended to increase the popularity and make the devels more money. It seems like, when it didn't, the staff gave it a miss. I feel like the site attracts few people and that the majority of the visitors come here to talk to their old friends.
Of course, this mode allowed us to see a lot of spectacular works and great artists, allowed us to spend some time scrawling (which you can't do in a mosaics room) but the tiles also give you a possibility to have an "intellectually fulfilling" experience as one of the members called it .
Maybe we can revive the mosaics by just tiling more. I hope we'll be able to see many valuable mosaics in the gallery soon.
Our idea is to set a time when we would gather together in one or more rooms and tile . That would be a periodical event like (for instance) Tiling Saturdays. What do you think about it?
Of course, anyone who doesn't like tiles will keep on drawing graffitis these days, I just hope to find at least a few people who like tiling but forgot about it just as I did.
I think that it can make us tile more again, bring a bit of that old cosy atmosphere and support the gallery with new artworks on these special weekends.
I don't want to get rid of the graffitis, I just would like to see more mosaics in the gallery and tile myself more .
What do you think about it? The details are open to a discussion. Thanks for your ideas, feedback, criticism. Any opinions, the contrary or support are welcome.

| I agree. I would like to see more mosaics in the gallery too. They're a bit hard to do on your own, but, with other people, it's pretty fun/easy. |
