I found some reposts. Not to write so many comments I post all of them here.

I notice many of our younger users causing some reposts. They find some old room and because they haven't seen the associated snapshot before (or because the duplicate detection doesn't work - or because they ignore the duplicate warning?), the artwork is reposted, often with minimal changes.
So - what to do? Come down hard on them? Reject the new artwork? Remove the old artwork?
As admins, we're struggling with this issue, as any decision would be subjective. I think even if we have very strict and complicated rules as to when a modified artwork can be reposted, we'd still feel a certain unease at either decision.
Our current approach is to take the necessary subjectivity into our stride and make the decisions on this when the issue arises. I have many times rejected reposts when *I* felt that there there grounds to do so, but I wasn't pleased that the responsibility of doing so was entirely mine. Maybe what we really need here is to create some community mechanism to allow long-standing members to exercise some power in order to "vote reposts off the island".
Proposals on how this could practically work are very welcome! |

In my opinion we should leave the old work alone and do something with the new one.
We could use reports but they offer only 'offensive content (e.g.: sexual or racist)' and 'trademarked and/or copyrighted content'. We need something like 'repost' option. In 'additional information' we would give also the copied snapshod number. Then one of the developers would:
1) reject the artwork since it is identical and there is nothing to discuss
2) reject the report because it is completely unfounded
3) give the snapshot under discussion (maybe something like 'moderate tags'). |
