Tesla Roadster - high performance electric car

I've been eyeballing and salivating over this little beauty, a high-performance electric sports car called the Tesla Roadster:

This car does zero to 60 mph in about 4 seconds with a top speed of over 130 mph. Range of 250 miles on a charge.

They even have nice little banners, so I can't help but place one here so you can get an idea of what this beautiful car looks like.



This little statement on their website is depressing (if you live in Australia, like I do, that is): "We currently have no plans to offer the Tesla Roadster outside of the continental US."

Is Tesla Motors any relation to Nikola Tesla? Also, what's the sticker price on this little baby?

Now all I need is a spaceport in my backyard, so that this Toyota Hybrid star cruiser has a place to land

Looks awesome. Amazing how far car technology has progressed. I mean, that Prius car was less than exciting - I'd say, downright boring. But an electrical or hybrid sports car - makes it hip to be green! Progressive! Hot! Out there!

Now all I need to do is win the lottery.

But...
The problem that all electric sports cars will have are the sound.
I mean in a electric sports car you wont hear the grunt of a V8 behind you like you do in a Ford GT. The sound gives the sports car a certain something, although with the way that Toyota is looking the sound could be replaced with a feeling you're in a F-16.
