| Shehtaz you got it right... Captain Janeway is the only female to command one of the Star Trek space ships. |

Sorry Jesse
We girls will vote for the female in the bunch every time
And if Janeway is like Mom... Picard must be like Dad.....or even Granddad. |

You wouldn't vote for your own mom?
Shame on you!!
In that list, T'Pol is also a woman, by the way.

You are right Roman of course, T'pol is a woman I had forgotton that fact (New Zealand T V stations never brought the Enterprise series so I have only seen a couple episodes on DVD).
Janeway then is the highest ranking woman officer in the series. |

That's something I didn't really think of. Sometimes we just automatically assume that the rest of the world sees the same shows and stuff that we do. Enterprise wasn't picked up in NZ probably because of its low ratings.
Enterprise had potential, but it was sooo boring its first couple of seasons. Then it got into the season-long story arc which just killed it. The parallels to contemporary terrorist and security concerns, and the war itself, were just so way over the top. And then it ended in a Nazi Germany time travel show - puh-lease, not one of those!
The last season, when it finally broke out, and they started writing stories that echoed the other Star Treks were excellent for the most part. The stories came alive. The characters came alive. You felt as if they could use one more season, and things would be fine.
The very last show sucked big time - they really screwed their fans over with that one.
That's my take on Enterprise. |

It started out nicely. It had high hopes, but it was slow-moving. And in this day of special effects and big explosions, it didn't have the tension or excitement to compete. Even with the "sexy alien" chick.
