Hi,
I think they refer to the same 'Flash plug-in'. What we're after is some text like this:
Shockwave Flash
File name: xxxxxxxxxx
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r31 |

Just an update, we're in the process of fixing it all up. Thanks to the tile rotation, there is 25% more data to be dealt with when the page loads.
At this point I think things are shaping up nicely and perhaps we can even do some magic and have the Flash version load quicker than the old version, even though there is more data! |

| I also wanted to suggest allowing the room owner to decide whether or not to allow tile rotation in his room. That way people who don't want to use flash can still participate/some would want to just make art in the classic art fashion. |

ImmortalMadness, idea noted. Hmm this is going to be somewhat tricky... how do you suggest TheBroth should communicate to users in a rotation-disabled room that rotation has been disabled? I wouldn't want to get people frustrated that are expecting rotation (and all the other cool features that only Flash will provide), but then nothing works as usual. We'd need to somehow indicate that things are disabled. To a new user that's not familiar with TheBroth that'd be even more confusing. Hmm... tricky. Any ideas on that?
On a different note, is there really somebody out there that doesn't appreciate the graphical splendor that Flash can provide? What downsides do you see?
In your own room, if you do solo artworks, you don't need to use rotation. Maybe what we rather need is a switch in the profile "hide rotation from me" so to you all tiles always look straight up, and so everyone can enjoy what they want, even when they work in the same room |

I've been thinking about this. I think that by keeping the option to make the "original" artworks would probably be a good thing at the end of the day.
Maybe an extension like we have for the Beta rotation? We could have /orig to show it's the original style. Although your idea of the "hide tile rotation" sounds good.
Anyone who wants to use the non-rotation could put a message on their room that they weren't using roto... |

| I don't know if it makes any sense what I'm about to say but, in order to solve the problem mentioned above, you could intoduce various room types. Alpha-rooms for the old TheBroth, Beta-rooms for tile rotation, Gamma-rooms for the artistic textures. The owner would decide on the type when opening a new room. A proper letter placed next to the heart/star/padlock icons would inform the "guests" what type of room they are entering into. |
