|
|
You can now take part in the beta testing of the tile rotation feature.
To access the beta version, simply add /beta behind your room name, or any room name that you have access to.
Example: http://www.thebroth.com/members/beta will access the room "members" using the new beta version.
We've taken off the "take a snapshot/rewind" link because that part is not programmed yet. If you do rotate some tiles, and then take a snapshot (by entering your room without the /beta suffix) you're likely to see some strange effects.
Don't worry about it though - rotation information IS being saved, it's just not displayed properly yet on the snapshot page.
Even though this is a beta, at the time of writing, we don't know of any bugs - but this just means we haven't found them yet.
What you see is pretty much the final version in terms of tile rotation. We have LOTS of further features in planning, but we need to finish the tile rotation code on the snapshot side first.
If you find things, bugs, unusual stuff, anything at all, please report them in the bug reports section of the forum.
With the tile rotation feature, "real" mosaics are now possible. Have fun with it, try it out, see what you can do with it. It's pretty darn cool if I may say so myself.

| It's running way too slow for me. Plus I think it takes away from the simplicity. Maybe as it improves you'll win me over but as of now, gotta say, I'm not feelin it. |

IM, can you provide specifics? What exactly is running slow, and do you feel it runs slower than before?
Please provide specifics about your setup (Flash version etc), maybe we can fix the problem and speed it up a bit. |

| I have a question, after the beta is done, will you still have the Javascript version? Personally, I like it better, for the most part. |

1337, what about it is it that you like better in the Javascript version - maybe we can incorporate that into the Flash version? |

Mostly the fact that it isn't flash, and that I don't need a plugin, that it doesn't take nearly as long to load, etc. The only real thing that bugs me about the flash one is when you click a piece and the red circle goes on it, that's kind of annoying.
Honestly, I like the tile-rotation and everything, but I think there should be two versions, at least if you have the beta keep the old one where you can type /old or something to use it. |

I agree with him but...
Morning-The page loaded up slow, as did the tile moving. Tell me how to find my flash version, I forgot. I did test my connection speed and it was very fast last night. |

If you're using a Mozilla based browser (Firefox, SeaMonkey etc.): enter about:plugins in the address bar to see which version of each plugin you're using. |
