Can we have an auto indicator of the artworks creator please as well as the free text ability. This would avoid having to go to the snapshot and would give credit to the artist where it is due.
This would indeed remove the need for part of the 100 characters to be used for this purpose and give this space back for more of a review.
P.s...Any chance of a little more than 100 Char....
For example...
Artist: Brrr_FrostNZ
Text...
Many thanks.

This is implemented now. You can now switch on a "show artist" checkbox. By default this feature is set to "off".
The text length has been changed to 200 characters, however on the profile page it will still only show the first 100 characters.
Interesting point to note: Who is the "artist" of a snapshot?
Technically, it's the user who "owns" most tiles in a snapshot. Typically that's the user with the most contributions, but it can also be the user who owns most tiles in a imported snapshot. This is so a new user can't import GreenFly's horsey, move a tile, save it, and pass the new snapshot off as his own.
The known downside is of course that if you have a public snap out there, and somebody imports it and alters it in a way that doesn't please you, and then posts it as his favorite, it may still show YOUR name as the artist. This is why the artwork page has this elaborate tracking of who did what, tracking even generations of imported snapshots.
However, if we have to boil it all down to one name only, we have to compromise, and so it will simply show as "artist" the user who "owns" most tiles in a snapshot. |

Agree with the artist selection, it is certainly a very sticky issue. I dont think you are ever going to solve that one so the current method may just be the best way...[/quote] |
