| It would be great if you could select more then one piece at the time so you'd be able to move whole sections |

I agree - it would be handy, and we had considered to implement such a function. But at the same time, as this would make things a lot easier, it would make things a lot less impressive.
In the goold old times of painting with oil and canvas, you couldn't just copy, paste or move either. Thus, works of the old masters are a lot more impressive because you know the limited means they had available.
Today, any 10 yr old can start photoshop, upload a picture, apply a brushstroke filter, and voila, we have an "artwork" lookalike in 2 seconds flat. Yet - it doesn't quite impress.
Similarly - the more technical means we'd provide to make artworks in TheBroth, the less impressive they'd be. Once you start having one aid, you'll soon have another and before we know it we'd have a little mini-photoshop that doesn't take much effort at all.
So - no mass-tile moving features for TheBroth. Let's keep it simple. |

So then how is it, then, that the bullies can appear and "explode" three or four pieces at a time?
Great site - a sociology PhD in the making. |

They only move one at a time, it just only updates with some intervals, and therefore you suddenly see all 4 pieces move at a time, even though the person moved them one at a time. |

Simply not true - just seen someone - by their own account high on drugs - show how to destroy a picture. He said "watch" & the image we were working on exploded in front of our eyes...

Sounds like he used an automated script of sorts - which would be a violation of our terms.

It'll be in the chat logs - 3:30am-ish GMT. Oh, someone with a 'star' next to their nym turned up, but did nothing - is that a moderator of sorts?
Cheers. |

what if you could move all tiles at a same time. so when you finished a picture and discover that the whole thing is to much to the left or something you could move it to the centre?
It would be a lot of help. |

Yes, but lets add a lot of other unnecessary features! |

That may well sound like a good feature but I personally think that the final position is part of the whole creation thing and part of the skill. Its a challenge to get the image you want in the right place to begin with.
And while we're at it why not just add a nifty pen feature allowing you to shade areas or draw in fine details, then you can change the name of TheBroth to Photoshop TheBroth-Pro..
I don’t think so.. If you want that kind of feature go use the art programs already designed to do it and don’t go looking to change original and highly effective concepts into yet another limited and poor imitation of a graphic art design package.
No offense intended Sorry if it comes across that way... read it with a smile and you'll hear it the way it was intended.

I think Pantera's suggestion is quite good. Although it might be a lot of trouble to design it but if the broth cud come up with this feature it wud be incredible. And as far as skill goes i don't think moving the whole picture with a feature means u dont hav the skills to do so.It wud just be a bit easier thats all. |

Honestly, I like the idea. Here's what we intending to implement: Just before you confirm to save the snapshot, you can drag the entire artwork around the canvas, of course limited by the outermost tile positions.
Note, this is different from dragging subgroups of multiple tiles around while you create the artwork - that I wouldn't want to support. However, a feature as requested, to place the finished artwork in the final position after the snapshot has been taken - I can't see much harm in that.
I also agree with Brrr - planning ahead for good placement of the tiles is a skill, however, in this case we need to balance what really is for the greater good of all TheBroth users, and I feel that more pleasingly placed artworks are actually better for all of us, even if the proposed feature makes it easier than before to create something amazing.
So - lets hear your voices! What's your opinion on this? |
