One of the interesting things of TheBroth is its relative anonymity. You don't really know whether the mosaic you're looking at has been produced by an accomplished artist, a 6 yr old, or a chimpanzee, or a mix of all of these, involving people from all over the world!
Is it still art if you don't know the origin of an artwork? Paintings done by animals painting with a real brush have become quite popular, such as artworks produced by primates, elephants, and even dolphins.
While the animal painters surely produce unique "art", TheBroth is an entirely different beast (no pun intended).
It's humans collaborating and what comes out is unpredictable and ever changing. Each artwork is all but a fleeting glimpse of what went on at that moment in time.
What is your own experience with TheBroth? Are people creating new artworks by collaborating, or, to coin a new term, collabor-arting? |

Yes I have seen plenty of people collaber-arting! Did I get that right? Anyway... This is a new kind of "AIM" in a way. It brings people together in a way that you can't just by chatting. The six-year-olds can get advice from the more experienced "Brothers!" by the chat... and are none the wiser! Still... it's kind of a charming thought!

Greetings,
Not only does it bring people together; I see it as an invaluable learning too for the budding artist.
It's too late for me (I'm not much past stickman) - but imagine a youngster being taught shading in a real-time environment...
The Broth rocks. |

| I think the broth is also a great teaching device, the pictures that use tone work much better than line pictures - the same principle as drawing |

| I CONSIDER MYSELF TO BE QUITE CREATIVE BUT HAVE FOUND IT REALLY DIFFICULT TO CREATE ANYTHING I`M REMOTELY PLEASED WITH USING MOSAIC. THEREFORE, YES, THE IMAGES CREATED ON THE GLOBAL MOSAIC ARE ART AND HATS OFF TO ALL THOSE ARTISTS WHO ARE ABLE TO PRODUCE SUCH WONDERFUL IMAGES. I THINK PERHAPS I AM NOT PATIENT ENOUGH!I WILL PERSEVERE THOUGH. |

| I'm addicted to The Broth too, even if I don't move any tiles when I visit, I always check the galleries to see some of the new art work! |

I'm addicted too! It's so easy to spend an hour or two here at The Broth, oh well I suppose it keeps me out of trouble! |

I am also addicted!! I move most of my tiles while I'm at work. I really enjoy looking at some of the amazing things people can make. It is unfortunate, though, that others can be overly critical when some of us are just trying to have fun and not trying to create a masterpiece |

I like the fact I can work on my own and in a group, people can do anything from doodling,to more complex art. I am worried about children using this site due to no moderator not to censor just stop destruction and really inappropriate behaviour. At the moment some make me want to stop visiting . The best art is the ones that make you open the thumbnail and rate it doesn't have to be good. |
