Best recent artworks (last 30 days)

its very surprising just HOW much art is put in the gallery in a week. i wouldn't be against a one week gallery,, instead of the month one we have now. ny1 else?~

At the time of writing this, there's 268 items in the "best recent gallery". If you reduced this to a week, there'd be less than 70 artworks in it - and then there'd be hardly any difference to the "most recent gallery".

30 days is a good time to let the good artworks bubble to the top. If there were only 7 days, there'd be less chance of them moving up, and they'd be visible for an even shorter period of time.

There's some really good artists active at Thebroth recently, and they're definitely dominating the field right now with the amazing quality of their creations. I think it wouldn't matter how long the period of time of "Best recent" is, these gifted individuals would STILL be dominating.

For example, Bigtel has been producing outstanding work, not only within the "best recent", but in general. He now has 4 out the 5 best artworks of all time! He truly deserves the "Leonardo" award. http://www.thebroth.com/awards452686.html

Long story short, I think the 30 days time frame has a good rate of change right now. We still get to see amazing art, yet the gallery keeps being interesting and fresh.

The pictures in the 'best recent' gallery have the days since creation attatched to them. the Elephants are nearly out of there and the other top ones are soon to follow.
The 30 day turn around seems to be perfect for the 'Recent' lable.
Incidentally, has everybody noticed the excellent quality of the artworks being produced at the moment by lots of different artists. If I set a challenge, it has certainly been answered in a magnificent way.
Anybody noticed the shark...done on the first day by a newbie, so there is enough good art and good artists out there to continually make the gallery full of wonderfull work.
