Why are they stealing my tiles?

Players new to TheBroth sometimes feel that others are maliciously taking "their" tiles. There could be a simple reason for that:

With TheBroth being a web based service that doesn't require any software or plugin or anything like that, it means that TheBroth has to use standard web based mechanisms, and unfortunately these don't allow for a true real time application (nothing over the internet can ever be fully realtime).

With the mosaic in TheBroth, there may be a delay of about 1 second or so between the moment you drop a tile that you've dragged, and it even starting to move to its new position on everyone else's screens.

This means that everyone else is, in all reality, blissfully unaware of your very last move. Thus it can happen that you drag a tile somewhere only to have it immediately moved someplace else.

To you, it may look like ill-spirited misbehavior! Battles may break out to defend your artwork and the tiles you've chosen to be "your's"!

Please consider that the "evil" person in question probably didn't see that you just moved the same tile and he or she never will. Remember, the person to last let go of a tile after dragging will determine its final position.

So - before you go and rate everyone with a big fat "minus" using the Karma system, watch what they're doing - it could be the lag of the system that makes others look like bullies when they're really not!
