Every single graffiti contains huge amount of data. It kills slower computers like mine. Thus I don't watch new graffiti artworks, rate, tag nor comment on them. I know - it's my problem and I need to upgrade my machine. Still, I have a small suggestion.
Is it possible to have an option which would allow slower computer owners to watch the artworks in JPG? I would love this, because I would be able to watch, rate, comment and tag new artworks again. There are more and more great images and I can watch only their thumbnails . I miss watching them in full size.
Cheers. |

hmmm... interesting. Can you elaborate on the "It kill slower computers like mine" part? is it just taking a really long time or is it making your computer crash?
I'm thinking, a little option like a checkbox in the profile wouldn't be a big deal, I'm just wondering what the percentage of underprivileged TheBroth user is that would welcome a feature like that.
Given yours is one of the slower comps, it's extra amazing what you've been able to produce!! Well done! |

I think it would be great.
I would like a JPG version of graffiti so youll have all the strokes you want.
maybe it would be for private gallery only |

It takes very long time and makes my comp freeze, makes music stop and I can't use any programme, I can't watch any other site. TheBroth becomes white, the cursors turns to waiting mode (hourglass). After that the atrwork finally appears but still it's hard to scroll it down to see the comments or put a comment. It's really annoying so I don't even try to open more artworks. The JPG option would save my live.
Producing is a bit easier than watching somehow. |

hi,
there's now a checkbox on your profile page for this.
It's called 'Slow computer mode [] Avoid Flash '
(Markus named it) |

LOL... what's that supposed to mean.
Just a clarification: This setting affects the full view of graffiti artworks in the gallery. When you switch it to "Avoid flash", it will show the graffiti artwork as jpg image instead of rendering it in Flash. You lose all that mouseover goodness to show who did what, but the upside is that it may load faster and no longer crash or slow down your computer.
Mosaic artworks are still shown as Flash. They're less CPU intensive in terms of rendering. |

Markus. I have and idea.
You could make a new type of room called something.
in that room you could draw what you want with unlimited strokes.
the snapshot would turn up in public gallery but would not be flash.
only one user were supposed to be able to draw in this room and when another user draws there that user will start a new graffiti that is invisible for the other user.
any way this means when you snap it you can make it automatically just say (fx.) PanterA (100%) without anything else.
and the line made with **** strokes could simply be made with 25000 + strokes, and if it wasn't it could be snapped normally. |

Pantera, this is a good idea. It would have to be single-user but apart from that it certainly is doable.
We're soon to release the mashup mode where you can have any artwork (or photo or art that you've done in any other non-broth way) as background image. This also means that once you're out of strokes, you can just save your current room content and use it as your new background and voila, continue like nothing happened.
I hope that this new mode (which will also introduce a ton of other really cool features) will cover the "not enough strokes" situation. Maybe it won't, but, we'll have to see how it will pan out in real life. Hard to know these things before trying them out in the wild. |

Hey... Does this mean my litle tiger (http://www.thebroth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=778&highlight=) can be made public now... Is there any other aspect of the problems we experienced there going to cause further problems for others...
Just a warning I suppose that anyone wishing to view this should avoid Flash... or maybe just make that mandatory for anyone wanting to view it... |
