| I finished a picture and took a snapshot of it but it didn't appear in the Gallery under recent snapshots. Nor did it appear in the My Snapshots page. I waited until the next day to see if it would be there by then...but no luck. where is it? |

| Under the [+] and [-] rating buttons, is there a button 'Copy to public gallery'? There's meant to be such a button for whoever took the snapshot. |

This is something very similar that happened to me! I worked on a piece of art for 2-days. When it came time to snapshot and save it to the gallery I got an error warning telling me that it didn't exist.
I kept going back, about 10 times clickin on the back button of my browser and then snapshotting and saving in the gallery. I got fed up and reloaded the page. It then threw me to an unfinished room where I had to start all over again. You don't know my frustration! |

misspie, I think what you describe is something else.
Others in this thread before you voiced the confusion about how a snapshot they just took isn't to be found in the public gallery. That was back on June 5th, when we didn't have that red notice "Your snapshot isn't saved yet - press save to store it." This seems to have cleared up that confusion.
I think what you describe is different - it's an error that occurs so you don't even get that far to be even asked to save the snapshot.
I have a suspicion about that, not at least because the exact same happened to me too not long ago, in the members room even, and boy I wasn't happy then either, having lost 30 mins of solo work.
I believe this can happen when you - by accident - have two mosaic rooms open in your browser at the same time. This is not so unlikely if you've been working in that one room for 2 days.
Typically you would get a warning message on both browser windows. Sometimes you're very quick to notice your mistake, and you closing one of the windows, so the other window didn't get to show that message error message that would have normally enforced a refresh.
Now what happened under the hood is that you entered another room, and so TheBroth server thought you're in that room. Now, if you only close the new window, and the old one didn't show you that error message, you wouldn't have had a screen refresh to place you back in your old room.
Rather, for TheBroth (and everyone else present) you would have looked like you're in the OTHER room, that you were in only briefly, because you were never reset.
So, in addition to not actually painting in the room that you thought you were in, it is possible that you have without knowing, made a big mess in another room or, less dramatic, in a non-existing room.
When you are by yourself in a room, this is pretty hard if not impossible to notice. What happens is that you're pretty much just dragging tiles in your local browser, with no connection to an actual room on TheBroth server.
So, when it comes to making a screen shot, the room you are meant to be in either doesn't match the one you're really in or it may no longer exist, and thus the snapshot fails. Going back in the browser doesn't help because snapshot creation doesn't take a snap of what's on your browser, but rather the data representation of your room on the server.
Sorry for that long-winded explanation. I am writing this also with the other TheBroth developers in mind, so that we get their opinion on this too.
Naturally we'll try to find ways to avoid this. I believe it happens only rarely, and only if you quickly realize, oops, two TheBroth mosaics open. If you realize it too quickly before the original window has refreshed, then you're basically off sync with TheBroth server and further tile moves are not registered.
For the time being, I can only recommend: Whenever you open 2 TheBroth windows at the same time by accident, make sure you close one of them, and press refresh in the one that you really want to be in, after another 5 seconds. Having two live mosaics open is a sure-fire way to confuse your browser, TheBroth server, other players in the room, and ultimately, yourself. |
