It would be pretty cool if it was possible to show a happy face or sad face just for an instant, at a particular location.
Suppose I start a design, and someone else catches on and begins to "help" -- I can then quickly flash a smiley face near their helpful changes; they will then feel positively re-inforced.
Likewise, if someone begins to "steal" pieces from something I'm starting to build, I can flash a sad face, and if they are polite, they will back off, and give me a chance to develop my idea further.
It would probably be good to limit the number of "emotes" per time period, to prevent overload, and screen clutter.
I don't know how to do the UI, but how about this:
Have smiley face and sad face icons near the border (outside, in a "holding tank"), and to use one, you grab it from the tank, and drag it onto the mosaic. Then it will show up on clients everywhere, just for a half-second or so. After a fixed amount of time (server-controlled, per-user is even possible, or just a global value), a fresh face of the type that was used appears in the tank (a "new one" is ready to go).
Comments?
(I know I should have posted in "feature requests", but I can't create an account ATM...) |

| How about a local (client-side) snap-to-grid option? It could help with alignment... |

Erm, nevermind that... hadn't read about shift-drop yet. |

yeah, i had already done 3 whole complete pictures doing it the hard way (one of them with a touch pad) before i was informed of this little trick.
it's helpful, but it makes a lot of the big, highly organized pictures seem a lot less impressive. |

| In my opinion, there's plenty of colours, if you want to create a particular image, create your room and get custom colours. |

Well... actually, we have such as system already. That's what the + and - buttons are for, next to each player.
Granted though, they currently don't work for non-registered players (who make 98% of TheBroth players!!).
So we're changing the system. The new design looks pretty clever on paper - let's see how well it works in a few days when we implement it for real. |
