| When you first make a screenshot you have to click 'Copy to public gallery' or else it's private to you and people you send the link to. |

Make sure you only submit finished artworks to the public gallery.
Snapshots that do not match minimum standards will be rejected. For the rejected ones, the button "Copy to public gallery" disappears as well.
Also, multiple versions of the same snapshot are generally rejected. Of those multiple versions, often the latest one or the one with the most comments or votes is being kept.
So, before you commit a snapshot to the public gallery, check the most recent snapshots and make sure there isn't one already on http://www.thebroth.com/mostrecent.html showing the exact same thing. |

| Using the chat feature in the mosaic is also a good way to prevent multiple versions of the same snapshots. |

Heh, I figured something like this. Teaches people to finish their art I guess. |

|
|
We have now released a new feature, the Amazing Duplicate Detector:
When you take a snapshot, this feature will check whether there is already a snapshot in the public gallery that is awfully similar to the one you just took.
If this is the case, it will show you an warning message with a link to the snapshot(s) that are already in the public gallery. This link will open in a new window, so you won't lose what you're doing there.
The message serves to remind you to keep only one version of your artwork in the public gallery, so you can set the other one back to private if the new one is better.
Similarly, it will notify you if you're about to save a snapshot of which another version has just been commited to the public gallery.
If you STILL insist on placing the snapshot in the public gallery, a constant note will remain on that snapshot, indicating that your version is possibly a duplicate of an existing one (and that you're possibly a dope ).
Remember: Only dopes submit dupes - don't do it! |

Haha, markus' note at the end of his reply sounds like it's something out of one of those 'Don't Do Drugs' commercials.
"Remember kids, only dopes submit duplicates of other snapshots, so don't do it! - brought to you by the association for a dupe free thebroth" |

Hi squaregirl. In your profile page, there are four links under the avatar photo section near the top of the page.
- Artwork contributions
- Tracked snapshots
- Public snapshots
- Private snapshots
Artwork contributions are all snapshots, regardless of who took the snapshot, where you have contributed by moving tiles.
Tracked snapshots are snapshots that you want to keep a track of. You can set snapshots to be tracked by ticking the checkbox on the bottom left of the artwork page.
Public snapshots are snapshots that you have taken and are set to the public gallery. Only completed artworks that are not duplicates should be submitted to the public gallery.
Private snapshots are snapshots that you have taken that are not in the public gallery. These snapshots may be work-in-progress snapshots or just something you like to save for prosperity.
When you click on the "Take a snapshot" in the mosaic, the snapshot isn't saved quite yet. You need to click on the "Save" button. Once you do this, your snapshot will be put in the your Private snapshots. To set a snapshot to the public gallery, you'll need to click on the "Copy to public gallery" button.
Sorry for the super long post, but I hope this clears it up for you! |
