Voting on the art

24 Jul 08 in TheBroth

Just out of couriosity how many votes are average for artwork on the broth? I get an average amount of views I suppose, but no-one rates them + or -. The most votes I have gotten on a picture is like 30 but most of them are like 15 and under with double the views.

I don't know, I was just curious. When I look at someones artwork I always vote one way or the other so that the artist knows if it is good or not and if I feel that I know enough about the particular picture I will leave a comment about how good it is or what they could work on.

I suppose that that is all. Thank you for reading.

There are a few variables involved here… Not least of which is the time the art has been posted on the public gallery or the number of patrons of TheBroth.

In the early days TheBroth had quite large volumes of visitors and artworks would be voted and commented on quite extensively. You would often see some of the eye catching artworks zoom up the rankings to hit the first page in quick time. Even the less than high quality art would move around the rankings on a regular basis.

My very first artwork made public on the 29 Jul 2006…

    Title : ‘The Cat’
    #Views 6791 - #Votes 566 - #Cmts 149

    Later artworks like…

    Title : ‘The Horse’
    #Views 897 - #Votes 76 - #Cmts 23

    Or…

    Title : ‘The Magpie’
    #Views 821 - #Votes 100 - #Cmts 26

    ...have far less

Since the apparent demise of TheBroth, and the woefully diminished numbers of visitors you are unlikely to receive many votes or comments on anything and very unlikely to see art hit the top ratings quickly at all.

I miss the top 40 artworks changing constantly with ever more impressive submissions coming through hourly. Each new mosaic and then later graffiti seemed to fuel the inspiration of artists to post even more impressive creations in quick time.

Nowadays its almost like a ghost town and votes and comments, let alone movement, is sporadic.

It would be nice to bring back the vibe of the early days, but that would require quite a few more new members and I suppose a little more effort from some of the older ones.

To see the counts for #Views, #Votes, and #Cmts for any member, click on their profile and then click on their Public Snapshots link. You could alternatively add some of the art that you really like to your personal tracking and then you could see their c

You could of course just click on each image and the counts for each are displayed under the artwork itself...

I see. That really sucks. I do indeed hope that the broth picks up more members, not just for ratings but because I think that it is a great place to come and relax, make friends, and express ones self. Thank you all for your comments, I really appreciate them!

No problem... . PS may have been worth using the forum for this post, not your blogg.

You can only see if further entries have been made to the blogg if its subscribed too, and I doubt many do that anymore... Forums show last entry and updates made all the time and show on the home page....
