What's in a name?

I've been asked twice in 24 hours, so I thought I'd share with the masses how the name of Freaky Friday came about.

It's not so exciting. It was a Friday and I was having a weird day, hence Freaky Friday. I think we were testing the change name feature that we use to have ages and ages ago. The name kind of stuck and I started being known as "freaky" and "ff". I didn't want to confuse people so kept the name.

Similar sort of story with my avatar. He's Fluffy, destroyer of worlds. I'm sure some people would recognise this little pup. I pretty much picked a random picture from my hard drive, cropped it, added the letters "ff" and uploaded it. Took all of 2 minutes. Haven't changed it since, and I'm unlikely to do so... again, people recognise Fluffy as my avatar and I'm not one for confusing people, or myself.

And yes, I do realise Freaky Friday is a movie. I've seen it too, several months after the name was picked. I can't claim that the movie name didn't have an influence on my username here, but I wasn't thinking about it when the name was picked. I did, however, watch the movie just because it was named Freaky Friday.

So there you have it... now y'all know. Whether y'all care is another matter :)

I wouldn't mind knowing how everyone got their name, if they're willing to share.

    well i was browsing through bbc click and found this site and started exploring it but some bullys kept destroying my work so i thought lets register and thats the first thing that came in my mind for the name "GO GO".....kinda uninteresting i know :(
    but hey i wudnt want my name to be "FINE CARROT" lol

    but i think names should not change its just not kewl...but whatever

    My name story is a boring one I'm afraid... It was generated from thebroth random username machine! At the time, I didn't realise you could choose your own, but hey.. I quite like it and think it's quite fitting; all bow at the feet of your Highness! ;-)

    The Sugar Plum fairy is a character from the ballet The Nutcracker Suite. but it is also a much loved seal pointed siamese cat that shared my life for 19 years. :)

    Lol @ Fine Carrot... GO GO is definitely a better name.
    PM: So glad that you liked the name you were blessed with.
    SP: Nutcracker suite is still one of my all time favourites! I thought that's where your name came from.
    BT: What made you choose BigTel?
    TS: Yes, I remember reading that post :) It inspired me to write this post.

    Too obvious really I suppose, I,m six foot three and sixteen stone (approx 224 pounds in US), no fat, just a little relaxed muscle, big feet and hands, and my nickname is Tel (short for Terry)
    Suppose it makes a sort of sense...lol

    Cryogenics is a branch of physics (or engineering) that studies the production of very low temperatures (below –150 °C, –238 °F or 123 K) and the behavior of materials at those temperatures. I often get brain freeze and feel I often study the production of very low temps in my head. The broth usually warms up my noggin though.

    My story's pretty boring, Bebi is a name I picked up at school and it just kinda stuck. It's quite funny as my hubby's daughter's called Beth and they sound so similar, when she's visiting I'm always called Bebi (or Bebs/Bebbles lol) My real name's Bev by the way :)

    Well I decided after playing in mosaic that I was really useless and must try harder, like past school reports :) Anyway the only problem is it sounds like I 'm a boy/ man. And I'm not.

    I noticed the box suggested the name Wonderful Goose when I registered,and forgot to change it! I too am not one to confuse people so I am probably going to keep it!
