decided on a course to do for college!

10 Mar 08 in School, College, Greek

i've been looking through college websites and decided on a course to do for college. And i think im going to do a hairdressing course...i know...sounds a little...odd...but it pays well, ish, and it doesn't seem too demanding, at any rate i feel it will be at least a push forward in the right direction instead of standing around going nowhere, so far, this year has been a waste of time... almost like walking up on a down escalator, you find yourself going nowhere until you end up right back where you started.

deciding what to do next.... :S

so.....after being kicked out of school ive decided to try and find myself a part time job...seeing as the next academic year doesn't start till september, though in the town im living in im finding jobs slightly hard to come by at the moment.

ive heard there are some openings in tesco lol, but i have to wait till April argh. But it's worth the wait i suppose if there's money at the end of it...

i get the feeling this is going to be a long 7 months of spare time :S

got kicked out of school

10 Mar 08 in School, College, Greek

so...where to start...well... this year at school in short was a complete waste of time, i don't actually know why i bothered to come back.

the year even started a mess, for some reason i wasn't put into a class and so technically wasn't supposed to be part of 6th form. Then a couple weeks in i think i chose the wrong subjects but its too late to change them so i drop one of these subjects. Chemistry, didn't get along with the teachers. wasn't very good at the subject and just generally wasn't happy taking classes in it. So i carried on the rest of the year up until about 2 weeks ago doing just 3 subjects. These being; psychology, photography and art. Sounded easy at the time, but art was very demanding and my work didn't seem to be of a very good quality for the grade i was aiming for. The teacher in art tells me that i hadn't even got an E for the subject and that she wasn't entering me for the exam, and therefore i thought it pointless to carry on the subject and got kicked off that course.

so...now down to 2 subjects, psychology and photography, to be honest i thought this was a lot easier than before, only having to carry around the necessary equipment and having a lot more free time to catch up on work that i've missed or to improve work i've already done. But there was another hurdle that i managed to walk into...Photography, i spent two hours one afternoon when i had no lessons to go and take photographs to put towards my coursework, i took around 50+ digital photographs in that single afternoon. I took the camera back to download the pictures onto my computer, but for some reason there wasn't enough room to put the pictures on there, so the teacher gave me a hard disk to give me alot more storage space to put the pictures onto. Again, there wasn't enough space to put the pictures on there. So HE said that he would take the camera and upload the pictures onto his laptop and print them off for me in the next lesson...so i think, "fine, that takes a weight off my shoulders" and went back into the common room to carry on with some psychology work. Anyway, i go back at the next lesson and the teacher says to me "i need your coursework in tomorrow or i'm not entering you into the exam rarrarar" and i say, "but sir. the photos are on YOUR laptop" so he takes me into the classroom to get my photos printed off. Only to find that he had LOST THEM! he was searching through his files "what did i save them under" i respond by saying "how do I bloody know it's YOUR laptop"
so he gives me someone elses work to use for now, (i'm already annoyed by this point) and then he says "come back tomorrow and i'll see if i can locate these pictures" so i give him the benefit of the doubt and come back the next day. When i get there i ask for him to get these pictures and he responds by saying "I don't know where they are Sam" so i say, well, "can you actually TRY and find them" and he responds with a sarcastic remark saying "I hold no responsibility for you losing your work" after this i just storm off, knowing that HE lost my work that i took my spare time trying to get done.

After this there is a parents consultation evening and i actually mention to the head of year that he lost my work and that i feel pretty gutted that i have to do this work AGAIN because of his carelessness. The week after (last week) i get put on report so that they can keep track of everywhere that i'm going and what i'm doing, because apparently i hadn't been attending lessons or doing the work. And my form tutor seems to have had something against me from the very beginning, she hates me and i hate her. The next day i come into school and get called into the main school office by the head of year only to be told that they feel it best i didn't continue my education for this academic year because i'm wasting their time by failing all my courses.

So now i have to find myself a job and try and attend college in september...

Back To School :(

5 Sep 07 in School, College, Greek

well, the summer is over and everyone is going back to school and work, what joy lol
for me its the start of an entirely new year, no more uniforms for a start woo!
and ive started some new courses, theres a couple that i think that i might not get along with too well, but ill try them for a couple weeks, and i can always drop the subject if im not doing good.
my choices for this year are psychology, photography, chemistry and art, though im not sure i really wanted to do chemistry, i dont think learning how to use a bunsen burner will personally be of any use in my life, its interesting, but is it relevant.

i think im fairly prepared for the next year, ive got most of the things ive needed, and i know which class im in.
ive already got to know a couple of people in my new class, and surprisingly my cousin is in my class lol

anyways, how is everyone else coping with going back to school/work? r u finding it stressful getting back into the routine of things or are all prepared and ready and happy to be back?

27 May 07 in School, College, Greek

i've finally finished school now and i'm on study leave, i've got loads of exams going on at the moment but i don't have to go to school anymore, so far i've found it's a bit lonely cos i haven't seen my friends at school in a while and won't see them as often anymore, and the exams are super hard, i've already done 6 of my final GCSE exams and got a load more to go i hope i do ok. i'm going back to 6th form next year which should be interesting cos i get to meet new people and don't have to wear a uniform again YAY!!!!! but i expect the work will get a lot harder too but i'll take each step as it comes...
