Longest Thanksgiving Ever

12:00pm Football Fun
We started the day playing football. We played 4 games. I won 3 games, and I was All-Time QB for the last game.

4:15pm Thanksgiving Meal
After we played, we cleaned up and got ready to eat. I know, it is a little early, but we needed time to do what we were about to do.

5:30pm Moving Out
We had finished eating and we were prepared to camp outside of Best Buy for Black Friday. Black Friday opened at 5:00am, but they were going to hand out tickets at 4:00am so you would be guaranteed your item of choice. I wasn't looking for a ticket, because I was there to get Nintendo Wii. We were in for a LONG wait.

12:00am The Start of the Battle
We were still surviving, taking trips to a nearby gas station to buy some snacks and to use the restroom. By this time it was getting really cold and the lights had gone off.

2:45am Bombarded
Some punks drove by the whole line throwing water balloons at people. They didn't get us, but some other people were unlucky.

3:30 The Scramble
Alert. Best Buy employees had arrived and people were rushing to get their stuff put away into their cars and get into a line that was getting started. When we first got there, we were about number 70 (keep in mind there were well over 500), and after the scramble we were about number 140. There had been a lot of cutters, and people who have been there a long time were getting mad.

Picture this, hundreds of grumpy, impatient people, fighting to get what they want, pushing and shoving for a spot in line.

4:30am The Tickets
People at about the front of the line were almost guaranteed a ticket. The people grew more impatient and tired of standing for an hour. Waiting for Best Buy to officially open. As I look around, I see greedy people planning their route once they enter the store.

5:00am It's Time...
12 hours of waiting outside of Best Buy had finally come to a conclusions. We were about to enter. The doors were open. Securtiy standing at the doors let a huge group in, then stopped the line for about 5 seconds, then released another huge group into the store. Within seconds people were running to their destinations.

I immediately ran to the gaming section, and I was the first one there. I asked for a Wii and the guy says the one thing I did not want to here, "We did not get our shipment.". I was showered with dissappointment, anger and frustration. I left the store destined to Target. Right when I exit the store, I got an applause from rest of the line, then I realized I was the first person to have exited the store. People were thinking I bought something.

5:15am The Sun Rises
I headed staight towards Target hoping the line would be short and there woudl be a Wii available. I get there only to find a massive line going around the store. I figured I had no chance at a Wii. Unless I go to a nearby GameStop. We get there at 5:30am and it opens at 7:00 and we are 33 in line. We figure it's worth a shot, so we stay there. At 7 in the morning, it was cold, really cold. This was the longest hour of my life. When they finally opened up we find out they only have 3 Wiis in stock. After hearing that, I immediately leave.

7:17am The Drive Home
As we make our way home, I check what my other friends got. They bought a 17in moniter and a 4GB MP3 player. All I kept thinking about was what a waste of time and what a disappointment.

5:40pm November 25th
Now that I think back on that, it wasn't so bad. I could go through it one more time, and maybe I will. The next Black Friday, look out for me, because I'll be there.

By the way, I still don't own a Wii.

I am really tired right now
