No sir, no dancin' today...
Song: I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - Scissor Sisters
Great, got the world's most annoying song in my head. Actually, I like the song, but when you have the same two lines running over and over and over and over again in your head... yeah... not so great anymore.
I keep hearing this in the chorus...
Don't feel like dancin', dancin'
do-ba-do-ba-do-ba-do-ba-di-do
Which I just found out is meant to be...
Don't feel like dancin', dancin'
Even if i find nothin' better to do
Reminds me of the hilarious lyric versions of Song 2 by Blur.
Time flies when you're busy, busy, busy. I almost forgot to write about disk 2 of the Classic 100 Piano CD set thingo I bought.
Looks like this will be a daily post for the next 8 days... well, 6 days now since I've already listened to 2 disks and only have 6 more to go.
So today's favourite selection is going to be hard, I've been tossing up between 3 songs but have decided to give the double thumbs up to Beethoven's Für Elise.
That was hard to pick because there were 3 Chopin pieces and I absolutely love Chopin. His waltzes are divine.
There was one particular factor that made me decide to go with Für Elise. I don't wish to discuss it, but if it wasn't for this reason, I would've gone with one of the Chopin pieces.
I still can't believe I'm listening to classical music. What's even more amazing is that I actually went and spent money on a CD set of classical piano music!
Ok... so who kidnapped the real Freaky Friday?!?
The CD set is "The Classic 100 Piano" compiled and released by ABC Classics. It's pretty much a compilation of the favourite 100 piano "masterpieces" as voted by listeners of ABC Classic FM.
There's 8 CDs in the set, over 9 hours of music... that's a lot of music.
I've gotten through CD 1 today, that's 14 songs, 1.2 hours. Hard to pick a favourite because they're all very good and pretty famous pieces. If I absolutely must just pick one, I'd go with Debussy's Clair De Lune.
Biggest surprise on the CD 1... Chopsticks. (wot the?!)
Pachelbel's Canon in D major, piano versions and variations.
I'd love to have more versions and variations.
