P.S. To those who contributed, if you see this, note which parts you worked on. I'll probably note my parts later on.

Ship on the sea with a shore line, light house, tree, erupting volcano, and moon.
Also, check out 730 for some earlier shots with a different shortline, more realistic boat, and a lighting bolt that all got changed before this.

    Some ineresting bits of info.
Here's what I remember of the process and what I contributed.
The first pictures listed in the series (723) was actually an earlier picture that someone else started and I helped on. After it got messed up, I came back a little later and played around. A little later someone started on the water and boat at the bottom, and eventually, I started adding water to help out, letting the other person lead.

At some point, I decided to add a sail to the ship that someone had made, beginning with the mast, and then adding light colored bricks for the sail. At that point, people caught on and helped with the sail.

At some point, I decided to work on a shore line (the sand with a clif behind it), and others eventually caught on. And to put something on top, I added a light house. A lot of influence was beginning to come form a Thomas Kindade painting we have a of a Stormy Sea with a ship on the seat, a lighthouse atop the cliffs, and a lightning bolt over the sea. At first I put a straight out beam from the light house with yellow blocks side by side, but someone else changed it to the spread out design which looked much nicer.

After that, I looked for something else to add. I'm not 100% sure what other people were doing at this point. They may have been adding to the shorline (filling it out) and/or working on the volcano outline. Anways, I decided to add a lighting bolt like in the Kinkade picture to see how it would look. Unfortunatly, we didn't have much yellow, so I went for the orange. I thought it actually turned out quite well.

By the time that I finished, I, of course, wanted to move on to something else. But, I couldn't think of anything. Someone else was working on the volcano outline (I didn't know what it was at the time). So, I just decided to wait and see what he was making. To help out, I tried to find the color blocks he was looking for and place them nearby. I also tried to move some of the blocks out of the way. I really liked the way the users had mixed the blocks together, on the sea and terrain; instead of using the snap to method.

At some point, I decided to add a tree to the top of the cliff. In the Kinkade picture, there is a forest up there. I started on the trunk and move on to the leaves. Eventually someone caught on and added a few blocks.

After this, I decided to help out a little by collecting blocks of various colors and placing them in groups. You'll see this in one of the later pictures (if you take a look). Others used them as needed.

By this point, the person working on the volcano had lava spewing out of it and was probably working on it's sides. At some point I threw in a little help on the lava spewing into the air, but tried not to get in the way. The idea of the rocks flying in the air came to mind, and I started adding the darker red dots around the top in the air.

Someone continued to work on the volcano (nice design by the way), and I waited till he was almost finished before adding a little touch to it that I thought would be nice. I had seen that he had added lava to the bottom of the volcano (in addition to that at the top), so I thought it might be nice if there was some flowing down the side. So, when he was nearly done, I decided to used the red dots I had collected earlier to make the effect.

Around this point, we were down to very few blocks left. Other people came in and, other people continued to do stuff (I think). I didn't pay much attention, because I figured that about the only place left to edit is the sky. At first I tried a Bethlehem like star, but that didn't look good. Then I started on the moon instead.

While doing all of this, others removed the lighting bolt and used the blocks to change the boat (as you can see). I'm not sure if other changes were made.

    Techniques:
The person who first started on the project didn't use the snap to method, but instead overlapped a lot of blocks. Whether this was intentional or not I don't know, but it did product a nice effect; and it made things look much more realistic. It was most effective when it came to the terrain.
In keeping with this design, and based on some good work I saw from others in the gallery, I used a teqnique when I added in things like the lava, lighting bolt, and light house. For example, where the lighting bolt touched the water, I would first place the orange lighting bolt over the water block, and then click on the water block to bring it to the front. This would hide part of the orange block behind the water and make a seamless and smooth transition. I used this same effect in the lava, to, in some areas, make for a narrower lava flow or perhaps make it look like it was going behind a big boulder.

hey, I was the other guy, and yes, I don't like the 'snap' feature at all.
